SAGUACHE 2022 COLORADO CHALLENGE ACCELERATOR PROGRAM

Leaders in the community of Saguache work hard to engage and celebrate the beauty, history, and culture of their community. There is a need for broad community engagement efforts to connect with and hear from local stakeholders about the future of the community. The process will culminate with a statement of vision and community values guiding future work, and a series of suggested action items defining a sustainable implementation strategy for downtown improvement. The Town and other leaders have been working hard to build opportunities, but need a guiding plan to spur engagement and investment needed for implementation to realize the vision.

2022 CHALLENGE FOCUS

The DCI 2022 Challenge Program Studio will focus on inclusive community building to ensure a pathway to stay in the face of displacement, as well as a future for the community. The key components will include several discussion areas, including:

STRATEGY Focusing on building capacity, identifying and securing funding, and continuing to strengthen partnerships.

VISION Considering the vision and needs to plan for the future and ensure that development supports the downtown area and builds on the authentic character of the Town while establishing room to grow and expand opportunities in the community.

PLACE Inventory project ideas, policies and processes to guide initiatives, and a timeline for engaging the community in building pride and beauty in the downtown.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP Continuing to cultivate and communicate both the opportunities for entrepreneurs and local entrepreneurial initiatives.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Join us at a community meeting on March 10th at 10 AM! This community meeting invites all to share their feedback and vision for the community. You can also interact with the surveys and activities on this page. We will continue to keep you updated and involved this way!
